The Movie Dialog Game!

I know what it is, but I googled to confirm, so I'll not post the answer. Just to say I watched another of the director's's movies last week. Top drawer stuff.

Another movie by the same director (probably better known) starts with the lines "This is the universe. Big, isn't it?" And before you get all Hitchhikers on me, that movie is from 1946, and was to become the first ever Royal Film Performance. (It has a different US title to the UK one.)

Given I got the quote slightly wrong (according to imdb -- the quote was from memory and I don't have the DVD to hand at the moment), I'm happy with either the original film or the one mentioned above, with either title (hey, I'm letting you have three potential right answers; what more could you want?).

The correct quote (cut and pasted from IMDB) is:
"Not poor, they just haven't got money. "
(to help googlefu for those that want to!)

It's said by the hero, who gets an eagle named after him, and who ends up falling foul of a terrible curse at the end of the movie ;-}

I'd heartily recommend watching it, but then I'm probably biased. I'll give it another day and then reveal the original movie title.

Some more hints: There's a phone box by a waterfall, a near shipwreck and a wonderful ceilidh.

The original film is "I Know Where I'm Going".

Since the quote "This is the universe. Big, isn't it." is also causing problems, here's an easy one (that I guess may already have been given):

"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses."

(And yes, I checked it this time.)
