astra that email is stunning. Why don't you try looking up Gong Fu and seeing if they will ship to the UK. I know that I like their Pu Erhs.
http://www.gongfu-tea.com/start.shtml Irene was pretty boring. Some rain, some wind and that is about it. We lost power at 1 Am and had it back by 3. We are more inland though so this isn't a surprise. |

Hi tea-lovers, I have a couple or questions and I hope that someone doesn't mind to answer them
![]() 1. I once read than somewhere (maybe Hong-Kong) they drink tea with Carnation milk. Then I mixed half a cup of English Breakfast tea with half a cup of Carnation milk with mixed results ![]() 2. I have seen in English movies that some people add milk to their tea. Is that Carnation milk or whole milk? What kind of tea is served at 5 o'clock? (I mean, if they still have this custom like in the movies). Thanks |

A cup of tea (with biscuits and/or cakes and/or small sandwiches) is sometimes still taken in the late afternoon. In our house it was usually at more like 4pm or 4:30pm, after the children have got home from school. What kind of tea? Most tea served in England is one of a variety of commercially blended black teas, almost always now in tea bags. |

A new tea for me. I am surprised. I think it is as good as Emperors Yunnan - The East India Company (and only half price) ![]() |

Dunno about England, but here in America some people add whole milk to their hot tea (not heard of anyone doing it to iced tea). Well really any kind of milk in all likelihood. We just call it tea.

Well, I'm exploring beyond the classics like English breakfast and chamomile tea
![]() If he/she means "yerba maté" it is an infusion quite popular in Argentina and Uruguay. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yerba_mate |

Red tea is Rooibos. It is made from a plant found in South Africa and technically is not a tea because it is not made with, well, tea. Pu Erh is either a green/uncooked or black/cooked tea. It is made from tea grown in China but is processed differently then a black, green, or oolong. Yerba Mate is a plant grown in South America that is used to make beverages. The traditional way of drinking mate is to tightly pack the leaves into a gourd and add hot water. The same gourd full of tea is re-steeped many, many times. They normally add sugar, honey, or other sweeteners because the mate itself is bitter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yerba_mat%C3%A9 I make my mate using stove top coffee maker for a more concentrated flavor and then add it to slightly warmed milk. Yerba Mate Latte. |

![]() You got to make the morning last; Just kickin' down the cobblestones, Lookin' for fun, and feelin' groovy. Hello, lamppost, whatcha knowin'? I've come to watch your flowers growin'. Ain'tcha got no rhymes for me? Dootin'-doo-doo-doo, feelin' groovy. Ba da da da da da da, feelin' groovy. Got no deeds to do, no promises to keep; I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep; Let the mornin' time drop all its petals on me. Life, I love you, all is groovy. ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqU9PqIhuIY ) What a delightful morning! Good day everyone! Happy Monday! Sunny and a hint of cool in the air... no enough to get cocky about, but the summer's heat is definitly going to end! Good tea this morning! A big mug of East India Company's 'Assam' tea to go along with my bowl of rice and crab meat! No balance to this breakie but sure tastes good! Quote:

I see this tea/carnation milk mixture is common in Malaysia. Does it has a name? (or it is just known as (tea-with-carnation-milk ![]() *** Edit *** It seems that it has a name (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teh_See) My second cup of tea this evening (still Sunday 5:32 PM) is another Chinese tea: Bojenmi tea. *** Another Edit *** What I was looking in the first place: the name in HK is "dai pai dong milk tea" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong-style_milk_tea) Last edited by encapuchado; 08-28-2011 at 08:42 PM. |

What brand are you drinking?
You learn something new everyday, I have never heard of Pu Erh as a red tea. Red tea has always been Rooibos in the stores I have shopped at. http://www.teblanco.org/white-tea_ar...u-erh-tea.html At first I thought you were talking about red label Pu Erh and was going to be jealous. One references a specific pu erh from 1955 that sells for an insane amount of money. http://www.redcircletea.com/blog/?p=15 |
