My order was cancelled but since I really wasn't crazy about it in the first place I'm not upset. Now I'll just wait for the Asus price to drop a bit. Hoping there's some pricing backlash in the market.

So I eat peanut butter and eggs for a couple of weeks. If I can manage to get one, that is!
Tangentially (did I spell that right?) I must ask . . . you're not eating peanut butter and eggs . . . together are you?

That being said with trepidation . . I *do* own a cookbook that has a recipe for that. I think it might involve tuna fish also, all blended together.

Back to people hopefully getting their HP tablets at good deals!

This wouldn't be a hangover cure, would it?

Colour me excited here. My order's shipped and is at the depot 20 miles from me.

Full marks to Currys. From my conversations with the customer service reps during the week it sounds as though they've been trying to fulfil the online orders that went through initially. The sequence for me was:

Monday night, I saw the price drop on the website and my order went through within a few minutes (with much whooping and adrenalin burned).

Tuesday lunchtime, called CS and was informed that they only had 25 in the warehouse but one 'had my name on it'. More whooping.

Thursday, called CS and was informed that there was no longer one with my name on it, but that they were trying to fulfil all outstanding orders. Less whooping. Somewhat miffed.

Friday, got my tracking email. Whooping. Followed by a Space Invaders dance.

I clearly was not thinking when I typed that. Should have been "and/or" -- although I'm quite certain that peanut butter cookies would combine those two ingredients.... Thanks for prompting a great idea for my Hurricane Irene wait!

Sadly, I still have not been able to snag a Touchpad. All the retailers in my area say they are not expecting any additional shipments, so it'll be HPStore or nothing.

No. I almost put "no, thank goodness" but thinking of it, the only sane way for them to co-exist would almost *have* to be a hangover cure.

D'oh! I'm wishing you luck and safety and a dry place to read in. The recipe is in a cook book, something about making exciting lunches for you man, from the '50s iirc. You do not want to know some of the things in there. < barf >
