I think that's normal. It's true here, too. I say hi to the dog, and ask his name, but not the owner's name. Sometimes, the owner enjoys being anonymous.

I read a book by Dean Koontz, who is apparently known as an author (I hadn't read him before). The book was "A Big Little Life", about his dog. He makes the same observation, that everybody was "Spot's dad" etc. Someone he had passed for quite a while finally recognized him from a book jacket, and apologized for not knowing him. He said that, on a dog walk, it's all about the dog. He was perfectly happy being known only as "Snuffy's dad" (actual dog name not recalled).

I wish you lived near Chicago! My shih tzu needs training. He bites me when I try to clean his eyes (bad boy!)

Hmm,
Seem that I have a lot of catching up on my 2 months absence.
Anyway, here are two of our four Pomeranians.
"Keisha" (alone), she have eyes that can melt even the coldest stone in the universe.
"Lukas", well, let's just say he has his way with people and usually manages to get things to his own favour.

I'll see if I find more pictures later.

My older Shih Tzu is going blind and needs eye drops several times a day.

When I'm sitting in a certain chair and call her she comes over, sits down, and lifts her head up for the eye drops.

Send me your puppy and Kylie can train her.

Yes - and the toy makes a clattering noise to frighten them off so the arm can twirl again. Stella now "dive bombs" it - I may have to purchase a back up unit - not sure how long it can stand up to her level of play! But she loves it!
