That looks similar to an Ameribag I have. It's a nice size for holding the Kindle and very comfortable. I also have a red Tano messenger bag that fits it quite well without being bulky. Doesn't have the padding that the Ameribag has, though.

I too have had mine for a year now and no signs of wear. I only wish it wasn't plastic.

i put a decalgirl skin on mine on day one. mostly because i was concerned with how the white plastic may begin to look grimy and grey over time. like a white computer keyboard might. no issues - normal wear and tear is not at all a concern with the skin on. all exposed plastic is well-protected for the $12 it cost me. i use the OEM book cover and use both the right and left next page buttons depending on my seating position.

Mine is holding up pretty good - 6 months after purchase. I bought a cover for it right after I got it so that helps.

I have had my kindle for over a year now. I read at least 10 books a week. My kindle has signs of wear. It also is cracked on the side. I have always had a leather cover on it since day one. I also have a clear cover over the text area. I have dropped it a couple time so I am assuming thats where the crack came from. I still works great though.

Mine is almost perfect, except for some of the lettering on the "Menu" button is coming off. Mine is a first shipment launch unit, so I'm pretty happy.

After 6 month of use my K3 shows a little bit of wear on the most of the used keys, but it's minimal, still, and I don't think it'll change much. Also, there's the common two cracks below the screen in the plastic, but I don't really care about it. I don't personally think that a silicone cover is neeeded as there's no scratches in the plastic casing.

This thread is actually older than my K2 US, but it certainly appears that both are still going strong. I don't see any wear and tear on my Kindle, actually.

My volume buttons don't work any more. Volume is stuck at 100%. Also, the back is partially popped out at bottom and no matter how hard I try I can't pop it back in. Other than that. It's fine.

My Kindle 2 is about 18 months old and is in good shape. There is a slight crack and dent in the lower right hand corner. Not sure how it got there. The rest is looking great.

I had to replace my first K3 after about 5 months of moderate to heavy use, because the lettering was coming off. The CS rep said it was a known problem with a few of the units and that it should not have happened. Amazon replaced it at no charge. |

I've had mine since mid march and haven't had problems. The unit has mostly been in a cover for that time so there hasn't been a good likely hood of a fall damaging it or anything. The lettering still seems to be staying on very well. I had thought it was getting a bit worn in some spots (letters) but under a bright light it shows that they aren't. Of course my vision isn't perfect so that was probably it.
