What's in your wardrobe?

This are my winter shoes. In summer is mostly light tennis shoes.
Fratelli Rossetti, Goodyear stitching, nice and dressy. I have one pair black and one pair dark brown.
Paraboot, mine are black.
Mephisto. It is the third pair I own.

I also have a pair of cold weather boots, of German make, that I use in the mountains, or in Milano when there is a big snowfall.

And I have a pair of fine black shoes, very fine, that my mother bought me in occasion of my first marriage (last century ah ah), that I still use for dancing or for some really fancy occasion.

I have a pair of kenzo shoes that I bought in Jan 1999 to meet a .... friend
I think I put them on no more than 10 times since then. The last one was when I got married 7 years ago?

Generally I try to avoid fashionable clothes/shoes. It attracts attention and I prefer to stay invisible

I bought a pair of shoes for my wedding too. I think I've worn them a total of maybe 24 hours... (a few days in advance to "break" them in, and about 8 hours during the wedding... During the dinner, I had them off and we didn't have a big party afterwards)

I hate buying shoes. They never fit. Or are ugly. Or both. I usually buy one pair every two years. And only when they're falling apart (and finally fit perfectly!) will I buy new ones.

I don't want to make you folks jealous or anything, but I can still fit into the same size socks I wore in high school.

And I can still wear my wedding clothes!

I wore shoes to two of my marriages.

I'm thinking of wearing my new Crocs to my son's wedding.

Or would my Teva's be more appropriate?

It concerns the rubber shoes called "Crocs." They are very, very common-place here for everyone from small children to grandparents, worn both with and without socks. I think they are some of the UGLIEST footwear I've ever seen, but at the same time, they are about the most comfortable footwear I've ever worn!

I wish that I could get Tim to wear them. They are cool and comfy without sandals, but hide the ugly hairy bumpy man toes.

Due to having 5 spurs on the bottoms of my feet, I am fated to wear only Birkenstocks or sneakers. Must have a thick spongy sole between me and the Earth.

I've seen purses in stores lately to match the Crocs, holes and all. Not cheap either.

Which leads me to another interesting question:

What is your OLDEST item of 'regular' clothing that once wore and you still keep but perhaps not fit into so well, but refused to throw out because you like it so much.

I have a synthetic sheepskin vest that I bought when I was 17... leather laces near the bottom hold it closed. It has shrunk a bit over the years but I just can't seem to part with it. Here it is, wearing it at age 31, with my two little cousins, both of whom now have teenage children!

I usually don't like to buy clothing online, but I know this type of dress is perfect for my figure. And with this company it's also very easy to return something that doesn't fit or you don't like after all.

I lost weight and thats the first thing I noticed, my socks fit better!

The oldest piece of clothing I have is a T-shirt I got at the last Simon and Garfunkel concert (they have since regrouped so not their last concert) in Vancouver 1984. I don't wear it anymore so not sure that counts.

I still have a pair of Doc Martins boot that I bought in 1986 that I still wear, I wear their boots and shoes almost exclusively. The shoes I wear in the office are Doc Martins and I expect to have these for a long long time, they just never wear out.


Mine are not in that nice new condition and have been resoled 3 times. Since I bought them.

Don't laugh, but now that I've lost weight a lot of my shoes are too big

Actually, I didn't want to upset anyone, but after several years of foot binding, I can now wear sox two sizes smaller.
