I have 4 different $10 Kindle book offers and I don't think I still have the Camping offer, but I thought that was over a while back. Remember when I got dumped on for calling it worthless?

Otherwise, we match but my dates are different.

The Camping offer hasn't happened yet.

The offers I list in the OP are supposed to be a COMPLETE list of ALL offers presented so far; not a partial list, but a complete list. Do you know of any that I haven't listed (other than the two for today)?

WARNING: Watch out very carefully for the book offer. It is VERY easy to wind up with a book not eligible when you modify the order of the books or when you look in different categories. Make sure you are getting a KSO book or you might not know it and the $10 gift card will never show up. I continually would wind up with a list of titles that were not in the offer even though I was just clicking "next" and often I would search with "Kindle with Special Offers Qualifying eBooks" as the limiting term and the search engine would send me to a title than was specifically not in the KSO listing. If I was going to take this offer, I would only do so after I received and email confirmation that the title was eligible for the offer, especially as they won't give you the $10 credit until August.

How will we know if we got it? I didn't see anything on the book I chose, which was one I would buy anyway, to tell if it was a special offer book or not. (It was on about page 9 of the list of KSO books, though, which I just moved through by clicking next. it was GRR Martin's Dance With Dragons). I was VERY annoyed, though, when I tried to buy the book, because it would not let me buy it either with my rather extensive Amazon credit, nor with the Amazon credit account (not the Amazon visa, but their other credit account). It would not let me purchase the book til I put in credit card information, and I have no idea why that was.

This AM, I had an offer for the GPS and it disappeared when I went on line.

that's the one that disappeared on me. I could see it in the View Special offers list, clicked on it and was told it was "unavailable" and then it was gone!

BTW, calling and complaining got me put on hold and eventually a $20 credit to make up for missing out on the offer.

Looks like all of them (all that I've seen or heard about), other than these current two offers. I'll dig out my USB cable in a bit and see if I have any other new upcoming ads for viewing. I'm hoping the visa $10 comes back (note that this current one isn't visa, but you can't use a gift card balance on it, either).

ps. I leave wifi on for my KSO - I send it the times each morning and listen while catching up on email/forums, as well as all free books (the one I pay for go to my 3G Kindle). I plug it in maybe once a week, even with all that audio downloaded daily.

The offer specifically requires purchase with other than a gift card balance.

I didn't get the GPS offer, just the $10 offer on select Kindle books. What's strange is I remember seeing the GPS offer in my assets folder, but it is no longer there. I used to have the $50 camping one too, but it appears to no longer be there either. The other 3 you listed I do have.

Well, here is the official word from a rather knowledgeable Amazon Kindle Rep.

1. Not every Kindle gets the same offers.

2. Of the few that are not for everyone, the allocation is random, not based on any marketing scheme.

3. If you are scheduled to get an offer download and your WiFi is off, you will get the download next time you turn it on.

I didn't ask him about the ads as they are not what we are interested in. He was very precise and accurate and said he had been briefed on how these things work. This might explain all the odd behavior we are seeing.

I cannot be sure of course, but the original link sent me to a listing with Kindle Special Offer Titles in the search heading and a number of titles in the listing posted right above the first title. The minute it sent me to the wrong place, both of these indicators changed.

I have a written reply from an equally knowledgeable sounding rep - it says everyone gets every offer, with no discrimination as far as choosing who gets what.

Obviously only one can be right.

The GPS offer seems broken - I've seen other reports of it showing, then disappearing (one person even managed to click on it, then it disappeared). Almost like it was timed for only a few hours and then removed itself, thinking it was outdated.

As for whether or not a gift card will be used first -- I just assumed it would be and was putting off even looking at the sale books until I use mine up (I had about $5 in gc and $20 promotional credit this am ... will be a few days, most likely, before I take a look at the list).

Not only did I manage to click on it, I got my GPS offer code emailed to me and have already used the coupon code. In fact, I got an email about an hour ago saying that my order has been shipped. It's worth pointing out that I clicked on the link at about 3:07 AM eastern time this morning, so maybe the issue popped up some time after that.

EDIT: I just checked my KSO and the GPS offer is now gone. I leave my WiFi on all the time so it must have happened sometime between about 8 AM when I last saw it and now.
