We just used to have non-de and wondered if it was affecting our sleep patterns, so are experimenting with adding half-half de and non-de to see if there is an improvement.







Either that or we get rid of the cats

There is some ancient wisdom behind it. It is more than just snacks and the number of calories consumed. It is tied to the way our body goes through the day circle, like what body needs when it wakes up vs., preparing to sleep.
The amount of calories is not the only factor for loosing/gaining weight. Far from as simple formula as 2000 kcal in, spend 2200 kcal and you loose weight.
For example you can eat 2000 kcal in two-three meals per day vs., 5 meals. The result would be quite different. It is more noticeable with age. When you are 23 years old...everything is fine. After you cross 30 years line, sometimes before that, you body changes a lot. You will see.

Would be interested to know how the experiment goes. And we have the same problem with the cats, too, who sleep with us every night. If you figure out a fix for that too, I'm all ears .

Hmmm, I don't know ... I'm convinced that eating dinner right before you go to bed is bad for you, for weight and for overall health. But I've been reading about diet and healthy eating for a while now, and it seems this (eating late is gaining weight) is a myth. Even while sleeping we burn calories. Our bodies don't shut down completely. For example: this article describes an experiment about eating habits (a cruel experiment in my opnion, but that's another discussion altogether). I used to have a really irregular eating pattern when I was at university and on a diet. I often had my dinner at 21:00 or 21:30. I went to bed about 3 hours later. And still I lost weight.

The rules of nutrition seem to change daily. I try and make sure that I have something healthy when I am hungry, eat three pieces of fruit a day, eat three servings of veggies a day, eat smaller pieces of meat then I would like, and limit french fries to twice a week. I figure that balance is as important as when I eat. Since I suck at eating breakfast I try and do well with my fruit/veg consumption. Getting in grains and meat is pretty easy for me.

What, you work too?? I thought you read all day Look at your list of 2011 books, I think you must sleep for, like, 2 hours a day?

You don't like cold, do you. (Stupid question, of course nobody likes cold!) What do you think about sore throat?
(Funny, when I have a sore throat I can speak French pretty well (which I normally can't) and my accent is totally different)
