You don't wait for it to happen. You don't go looking for it. You don't let it go looking for you. It just happens. There isn't any other way it can happen. You don't plan for it. You don't expect it. You just go with it. And it happens when it happens. When I first told my wife that I loved her on IRC, I just kind of blurted it out in PM. It was not something I was planning on doing. It just happened. |

I have met quite a few people that I had only known online and everyone, except for one, were exactly the people I thought they would be, in a way it was a little let down The one person that I met that wasn't exactly who he claimed to be was a guy that was very good at keeping his story straight, all that tripped him up was his family, who were very nice people, but he was very insecure in a way I think. But all in all people tend to be themselves when they are on the net, especially in a forum like this, in the naughty forums I guess you really would have to be more careful

I think if it were online chat only. No phone calls, no pictures, no emails then it would be a lot more complicated. When you speak with somebody on the phone you might notice many things. Pictures of half naked or fully dressed perfect girls would not work if you are not dull There are many details that accumulate when you chat with somebody every/other day and unless you chat with 10 others, you would notice any discrepancies. I was not looking for a girl on IRC. I asked a friend of mine to install it for me on my old 486 Windows 95 because I didn't want to loose my English, something I thought I would never be able to learn, but somehow I got a grip on it when playing online game for 3 years then quit it forever. I would go to "beginners" chat group and just read what people say, on a very rare occasion say something. I was always watching MTV at the same time, TV was opposite my PC. Most of the time I would sit with my back to the PC screen. It just so happened, that I turned my head for a moment and on the fast running text (beginners group is quite lively) on the 14" screen I noticed that somebody asked: Does anybody speak Russian? ....I do, I might say Hi. That was it. Last edited by astra; 05-11-2011 at 04:26 AM. Reason: ever - never; got - for

What astra said held true for Chris and me. I knew I was in love with the person I knew online, and when we met in person, it was, indeed, like two halves becoming a whole. I was instantly comfortable with him, the only "side effect" was I wouldn't let go of him! After so long without being able to touch him, I don't think I let him an inch away from me for quite some time.

She would not encourage me to advance in my career because my current job, albeit very low paid, allows us to spend more time together. ETA (heh a funny typo, but I won't fix it)

Not in the least, unless you go to naughtynurse.com EDIT: I take no responsibility if anyone tries that URL, I have never been nor do I endorse any site that may or may not be at that URL. Please see the law firm Rob and Steel Associates for more information, or if you would like to file a frivolous lawsuit. Last edited by Mortis; 04-26-2011 at 04:51 PM. |

Astra, many many thanks for telling us your story so openly. I am glad your wife found you out and that all worked out so happyly for you both. Your story gave me a little better understanding how online relations can start and can be turned into "eye-to-eye-love stories". It seems, they need more time to develop, but then they seem at least as lasting as others. Spasibo! |

@maian methinks it's no gay obsession what we observe, but just a slight androphobia, maybe because she found out that this is reality and Prince Charming decided to stay in between the book covers, who knows.

Thank you for your stories, astra and phenomshel. I actually know quite a few people who had lasting relationships with people they had met online. I'm glad to see that you have found happiness with your partners; I wish you many happy years together.
