Looking to Partner with Kindle Developer

I have an idea for two Kindle applications that I'm looking to develop.

Would be open to partnering and/or potentially just paying for the development. Only qualified developers reply. Dave email me |

Not to put a damper on your idea... But...

Amazon does not allow 3rd party applications to be put on the Kindle. And there are no "developers" for the Kindle. It's a closed device. MyridoM |

@myridom - You are...not quite correct. http://savory.fsck.com is my first app for the Kindle 2. Others may come. Though this is very much a hobby, so probably not useful to the OP

But if Amazon then comes out with a new firmware, your application will break. Then you'll need to update it and everyone will need to redownload it and reinstall it if that can even be done. So who knows if your app will work over every firmware update Amazon comes out with?

Indeed. The Kindle is not an open platform with a vendor supported development environment and a commitment to API stability. Though two software updates in, my app is still working just as it did on 2.0.1

![]() I certainly wouldn't build a business on Kindle hacking, but it makes a great hobby. |
