Indeed, thank you for many, many days of work - it was worth it!

Hmm win7 is unable to decode h264 natively? I'm amazed. Could you tell us what codecs you used, so that the people that are unable to watch it can also install them.

I have win7 64 and also have lines through the video. Every 8-10 seconds I will see a flash of the video content, but it only stays on for a second and then back to vertical lines.
This is what happens to me to. Every few seconds I will see a flash of video. I was able to watch it on my Vista machine though.

Nice features. Thanks Kovid.

Thanks for the updated metadata screen. It took me a little while to get used to it, but I'm loving it now.

Hope you enjoy your vacation, Kovid.

Calibre has long been a must have tool for me, and I couldn't see how it could get much better. Then you released 0.8 and showed me

Thank you to all the devs and also the burgeoning plugin development community.

I'm always excited to read the list of updates, fixes and new features with each release.

Kovid,

I downloaded and installed the latest.

Running W7-64

Special drivers: Logitech Trackball and Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard.

Kbd changes: left/right arrow are page back/forward

I load a book. I can use the keys mentioned to start. If I use the mouse to move things, the keys quit working. This can but not always occurs moving out and back to other apps.

Also, I converted a PDF to MOBI. All double-L's were converted as L[space].

P.S. I viewed your tutorial (W7-64) without a problem

The new version is awesome. Adding (and now buying) books is getting better and better all the time. Between it and all the awesome new plugins, it feels like Christmas!

One small suggestion, some of the new windows don't remember their previous sizes, cover choser in particular. It would be nice if they remembered the last size they were changed to by the user.

With all the fast-paced development going on, how do you all find the time to actually read some books!

I am able to see all the covers fully. Have you possibly chosen different fonts or icon sizing for your desktop?

I have large fonts and a higher DPI setting applied which I am sure affects this, so it would be nice if I could enlarge the Window once and it always remember it.

I was playing more with the new book purchase feature and love it! Are there plans to implement right-click functionality (windows) so that I can select a book in the library (placeholder) and have it perform a search on that book without having to manually type in the title? It would be nice to be able to easily check prices on wanted items

Another window that does not remember size is the book details one, from double clicking on the book details pane. If you are looking for ones to fix

I am really new at this so please bear with me and excuse me if this question has been posted and answered already. I routinely update to the newest version of Calibre when it is available. I recently tried to update from 0.7.57 to 0.8.0. Everything seems to work ok but when I restart Calibre after restarting computer it still indicates I am using 0.7.57 and an update is found for 0.8.0. Seems like the update is not taking. Any suggestions ?

You have done updates before (we will assume you know how )

What changed?

You might disable your Anti Virus while applying the update.
(be safe, no surfing while it is sleeping)

BTW What OS?
