[GUI Plugin] Kindle Collections (old)

Go to Preferences -> Toolbar and select in the drop down 'when connected to a device' (EDIT - fixed where to look for the entry, but see later post anyway).

No problem - there are now a lot more choices of where to add items. To expand on my brief reply, you can use the Preferences -> Toolbar and select where you want the entry for the plugin to appear. The toolbar is the one with the icon, the menubar is the text entry, and the context menu is when you right click. I've set the plugin to not show you the 'toolbar when a device is not connected' since it won't be of any use, although I see I did not block 'menubar when a device is not connected' or the context menu. Something to update when I need to release a new version.

I think I might also add a screenshot to the first post for all the choices available.

I find out this great plugin for our kindle, and I tried to install it.

I just installed calibre 0.7.57 and Kindle Collection plugin 1.5.4.

When I tried to use preview or create from "Kindle Collection" menu, I get the following errors:

"Preview without saving collections"

I have no idea if this error is because installation error or another thing. I appreciate any help about this error. I am stuck at this point.

Naturally you upload a new version less than two hours after I finally get around to downloading the last one.

I'm having minor Kindle issues, so my plan today is to clean her out and re-add. I think I've managed to choke her again (index files). So, seemed like a good day to update both calibre and any plugins with updates, like this one.

I'll keep an eye on here for more on the errors posted for this version. I don't even know off the top of my head which version I've been using here lately, but it's been working like a charm.

I figure by the time I get done, I'll have redesigned my collection scheme yet again (been a couple of months, I'm due), and by then this will all be worked out.

Is there anyway to get around this new confirmation box when creating collections, is there any way for it to always create the collections??

Updated to fix the problem seen by iby and ikar - plugin was failing in the report due to printing empty values. I want to look into where the empty values came from, but this should fix them.

@kiwidude - can you update the index.

What confirmation dialog? If its mentioning that files have changed since you last run create. It will disappear once you run create. Its to warn you in case you hand editing collections on the Kindle or via Edit in the plugin.

To tell the plugin to ignore specific collections when checking for hand-editing, just put the collection names in the Never delete/modify box in the Customize window.

If its not that warning, let me know what its saying.

Sounds like you have an old version of the plugin. You should upgrade to 1.5.5.

Hi. Look like another unicode error - support for non-ascii characters. You're hitting code that really should never be able to be executed. Clearly you must have a path name that's non-ascii. If you run in debug mode it should be clear which file it is. But I'll work on updating the code.

In my contents there are two special hungarian letters: ő and ű. May be that is the problem?
