That would sound strange had not my grandmother owned a cat who would ring the doorbell when it it wanted in. The first few times it happened, they thought some kid was playing games. Then they noticed that every time they opened the door to see who rang the bell, the cat would come in. I believe they finally saw the cat actually ringing it.

Evidently the cat had seen others ring the bell and made the connection on his own.

My sister's cat used to magically open the door by staring fixedly at the doorknob. He learned that if you do that with enough intensity, someone will get up and open the door!

All of this makes me wonder something. Since certain breeds pf dogs (VR!!) are more intelligent, have any of the cat breeds got a reputation for being smart? I believe that I remember reading that the new teacup breeds are brighter than average, but I might be just imagining that I read it.

I'm shutting down to get dressed for the boob test appointment. I was too nervous to eat breakfast, but I did buzz around as a ball of nervous energy cleaning house already. When this is over, hopefully it will be okay and I can finally unwind. Otherwise, I'm beginning to think that I can maybe rip out my kichen and utility room floors, replace some warped boards, put down the tileboard, and tile it myself.

Ii is scheduled to be an ultrasound, but I remember last year's u/s ended up in a needle biopsy the same day. OUCH!

I'll edit his with the results after I get back home.

I have no idea if any of this has any scientific basis, but I do know that our Siamese manages to get in our bedroom and the door is closed. She's the only one that knows the trick, including my wife and I, we have no idea how she does it.

Mine do that with the back sliding glass door. They will sit there at the door, look outside, look at me and then look up at the latch.

Hey hey hey! The tumor did not come back, and the lump is unchanged for the second year in a row! I don't go back for another year! YAY!!!

Darn, we never thought about velcro. The child-proof locks never worked, as they even figured those out. We never had to even get out their snacks, as they just got them out themselves whenever they were hungry.

M use to get us in trouble, when we were kids, as M would start at the end of the hall, run full force, hit my parent's bedroom door and turn the knob at the same time. Ta Da! The door was open and M could open drawers and pull stuff out. Mom never believed it wasn't us, until one day she saw M get the door open.

Very active and very vocal. Ours could be trained to do stuff too. Two of my cats always jumped into the shower or tub whenever I started the water. If I threw them out, they jumped back in. If I locked the door for some peace and quiet, they just sat outside the door and yowled, until you opened the door. THEN, they slowly sauntered in AND jumped in the shower or tub.
