I was thinking the exact same thing after catching up on this thread. I was all set, almost convinced myself to go ahead and get another cute little kitty, then started reading pooh's posts and began to remember what it was like with a kitty in the house. I coouldn't go out the door without using the lint brush first, my stockings ended up with runs, my blinds always had a bend somewhere, my curtains were used as a climbing wall, and cat hair floated in the breeze.

I still want a kitty.

Oh, I'm used to all that. We already have three adult cats. It's the whole "keeping a kitten out of things that might hurt it" part that has me thinking twice. Especially a Tasmanian Devil in disguise, which seems to be what Pooh got! I couldn't bring a kitten in here anyway - my adult cats would throw hissies. (And so would Chris!).

I mostly had siamese/siamese mix. Our last one, Paws, would do a 2 hour morning commute, stay with a friend, and drive 2 hours back with me during the week. He knew morning drives included a stop at McDonalds and if a new worker only passed 2 creams through the window to me, he would hang out the window and meow for his little cup of cream.

We even taught him to "fetch" stuff for us. He would go get his "blanket" and bring it to lay on during movie night, open the cabinet and "pick" which can he wanted at dinnertime, and bring in the paper when we let him out.

I think he thought he was a dog.

funny how cats don't want to enter their basket to go, but they are more than willing to get into the basket to return home ....

one of ours had a closed eye for some while, luckily an injection and bathing with salt water helped sort that out ....

The only thing he really doesn't like is when she cuts his nails. He pulls away, but that's all he does. No snarling or fighting. Yep, I definitely love my cat

Well ... we currently have all of the above ... but Stella is so damn cute ... even when she's just been untangled [against her will] from the drapes ... I just can't resist a pink bunny nose on a cat. And I've been ingesting cat hairs in my food & drink for years anyway.
[And people wonder why all the cabinets & drawers in the house have so much velcro on them that people have a hard time opening them.]

Adult cat hissies are par for the course. When there's no person in the room, the little devils get along just dandy. Lots of sibling rivalry & attention seeking behavior - think toddler day care!

She's exhausting us out [I figure we have probably 4-6 more months of wide open behavior] but I'd never take her back!
