Addicted to media

ScienceDaily (Apr. 5, 2011) — College students around the world report that they are 'addicted' to media, describing in vivid terms their cravings, their anxieties and their depression when they have to abstain from using media. The findings are all part of a new global study released April 5 by the International Center for Media & the Public Agenda (ICMPA) at the University of Maryland.

Great link kennyc! This not only applies to students, but I see this everyday at work as well.

I do tech support for an insurance company. Our agents use an online program to write and service policies for their clients, to file claims, and to communicate with each other and the corporate office.

I have had agents literally in tears because their computer would not work properly and they could not service the needs of their clients.

While I wouldn't go so far as to classify them as "addicted" I would definitely use the word "dependent"
