BTW, endearments are NEVER good with business phone calls. It is heartwarming in person, but weird and unprofessional with business calls. I think for it to work, you have to be able to see the smile.

I said it 3 times: 1 to Wife that during her lunch break went downtown to buy me Toxic by Helgason. Toxic is the Italian title. In English is The Hitman's Guide to House Cleaning. 2 to big Tom for service rendered. 3 to Geoff for Firefox 4 that is a real beuty. Thanks again Geoff. |

Sort of wrong saying "Thank You" just so you can post how many times you've said it today |

I agree with Astra, the level of familiarity is sometimes disturbing here. I find it rather rude to be called love, honey or other terms of endearment that I would personally save for my wife or daughter, not someone I have never met. Here the over familiarity is in areas that I find really rude like when you are shopping for cloths they will tell me (I'm generally larger then most Malaysians, but I'm not obese!) that I need the "King Kong" size, or "You are very fat, you no need more food". Not kidding in the least. People here will also call someone older, "Uncle, Grandfather or Aunty, Grandmother" I think Ma'am or Sir would suffice. I'm a fairly private person and I find this level of familiarity to be to much. This could be why locals think all "Matsali (White people)" are arseholes because we don't like this level of familiarity.
