@tlrowley: I updated the zip file in my previous post. With this latest version:

* What's written in the last line of the report?

It should be something like:
Reboot trigger file: /media/Kindle Main Memory/linkfonts/reboot

* Which version of the SS hack are you using (check linkss/info.txt)?

* Is the linkss/autoreboot file still present on your Kindle?

* Did you ever have my fonts hack installed on your Kindle at one point?

(And, no, don't unplug until the screen is cleared, that would be bad. ^^)

sorry i keep bugging you

I'm getting an error:multiple repeat

I've looked through the debug file, and the code breaks after it recognises that I have a collection on the Kindle already. However if I don't have a collection already created on the Kindle, the plug in tells me that it can't find the collection file on the Kindle.

I've tried different things (resetting my kindle, re importing the fics, setting it so that the collections on the kindle are deleted / not deleted) and I can't get the error fixed.

thoughts? help? please?

I think so - before 3.1, I had installed your jailbreak, SS for sure. I thought I had applied the font hack but not used any fonts - is that even possible or am I imagining things?

I updated to 3.1 with the hacks installed. I used the new jailbreak and uninstalled things in the reverse order. Then I reinstalled the SS, but not the font hack.

I don't mind uninstalling/reinstalling if it might help narrow things down.

(And, no, don't unplug until the screen is cleared, that would be bad. ^^)

Yeah, I know that but desperate times and all...I'm even starting to wonder if it matters which end of the cable I disconnect!

Okay, given your report, you never had the fonts hack installed (or at least you removed the linkfonts directory after uninstalling it), so that's good .

I'm guessing the issue lies in the SS fonts hack, try updating to the latest version, it should help (There was a stupid bug with the autoreboot feature at one point ^^). .

That seems to have done it, thank you. I hadn't realized that my SS was that far out-of-date - it was working so well!

I've now seen my Kindle restart two times in a row, which I hadn't seen before, so I'm ready to pronounce my problem 'fixed'.

Thanks, and I'm sorry I missed something so simple as out-of-date software. I'll try to keep up next time

So much that I had to tinker with it a bit, so here goes:

* You can add a suffix to the collection name, in addition to the prefix.
* You can setup a re.sub on the collection name, to transform it. (ie. I use an include "\+.?*" on tags, with a sub "(\+)(.*?)", "\2" to create collections based on tags that start with a +, but without actually keeping the + in the collection name (+Fantasy => Fantasy), because I'm too lazy to setup a custom column ).
* Config switch to automatically trigger a framework restart on USB unplug (requires the SS or Fonts hack), because it's enough to reload collections, and that takes only a fraction of the time needed to do a full restart.
* Fixed the config file save path (extra config_dir in there, at least on my setup).
* Fix ignore_prefix matching if the collection name contained an re keyword character.
* Fix error when trying to acess the customize plugin menu without an existing config and no Kindle connected.
* Handle update of config files when new settings are added to default rows.

Thanks again for your work, I'm *finally* using a proper collection setup thanks to this .

Not to sound dumb but it is not clear to me what this does? I have the Kindle Collection plug-in, should I just apply the patch or re-load the entire thing? Can someone provide a little clarity on what NiLuJe's work means? Thanks!

Thank you - that did it! It is the simple things in life. Appreciate everyone's help on this, it was driving me crazy. Now I have the Kindle Collections plug-in and the series plugin. I think I am go to go!

I've encountered what I believe may be an unresolved bug. I chose user_categories under "Customize Create Kindle Collections" as I am only interested in the categories I have manually created in calibre transferred to the Kindle. WHen attempting to preview, i get the following error: "UnboundLocalError: local variable 'n_original_pattern' referenced before assignment" with the following thread dump:

Hope this is useful to you, and I also hope that this is the appropriate place to report such issues.

Thanks for your work on this otherwise very useful plugin. I hate manually managing collections on the Kindle itself, and I prefer using calibre to manage them instead of a stand alone solution like Kindle Collection Manager.

I'd recommend you skip it for the moment unless you're feeling adventurous, in which case you reload the entire thing - but I'm not sure which version was the base for patching. I'm incorporating NiLuJe's great suggestions into the next version - so when its ready you can just download it with the updates.

Sounds good to me meme, I will take your advice and leave well enough alone. I am not feeling adventurous, especially in light of everything is working as it should so until I see the latest version, I will just sit tight. Thanks for all your help and good advice.

The plugin doesn't support User Categories yet, but will soon. If this isn't really a user category issue, I'll have a look at the output to see if this bug still exists - thanks for the details.
EDIT: Its a clear bug in the current version - good thing that whole section is being replaced

Well, the plugin appears to work normally, the script (preview) shows how many collections will be created, then I press "create collections" , all seems fine, no error msgs, eject device.

Looking on the kindle, but there are no collections created. Not one.
The sole collection for PDF created manually earlier is still there, though.

Where am I going wrong?

Did you reboot the Kindle? Otherwise you will never see your new collections.
