The hard covers are stiffened with plastic sheets and padded with felt. You can bend them within reason, but sturdy they are.

If anyone else knows of some similar to the kate spade style without hooks I'd be interested in seeing those as well.

In what way were the hooks allegedly damaging the kindle? I just made my own cover that has hooks and would rather not break it right off the bat. Perhaps I can mitigate the problem in my design.

It has been reported that the Amazon covers without light cause frequent restarts of the Kindle and drain the battery. The same has been reported about the Kate Spade covers. Amazon has stopped selling the covers since.
My Stepdaughter had the same problem, she reported it to Amazon CS - she got a refund plus US$20.- which she used to purchase the Amazon cover with light. |

The lighted cover do not appear to have this problem as the clips drain through the light as they should. |

I agree, while I love the Oberon deep-engraved leather style and lush images, has it never occurred to anyone there that some people might want to listen to audio on their Kindle? Would it be so hard to punch some little holes in the appropriate place on the back cover?!

Kindle Zippered Case Pattern (?)
Hi All,
Just became a new Kindle 3 owner and am miffed at the lack of decent covers out there for this wonderful device. I was hoping to find a pattern so I can customize one for myself. Does anyone know if a pattern exists for a zippered case pattern? The kind that is similar to zippered book covers they made for paperback books back in the day. You could zip open the cover and read your book with the cover still on and when you were done, bookmarked it and zipped it back up. It protected your book when the case was closed. Hoping to make one like this for my Kindle and wondering if there was a pattern out there anyone can point me to? Thank you! Ivy ![]() |
