That is interesting. I use my K3 a lot.. but in bits and spurts. So I'm constantly sliding the power switch to wake the Kindle. Sometimes I slide the switch to put it to sleep, other times I just let it time out. I rarely if ever turn it off. I get about 9 or 10 days between recharging cycles from where it gets low, but hasn't given an alert yet. I have the lighted cover and rarely use the light. I tend to turn wireless on when I need it but otherwise leave it off.

hmm really? that's good, then...but somehow, with all the stuff i've read, it seems that it's hit and miss. i sure hope i get lucky, especially since i live so far away, it would be difficult to send the kindle or cover back if anything went wrong. |

It would be hard to believe they'd make a NON-lighted cover that caused the kindle to reset, but.....

It definitely looks like a moleskine and kinda like the black version of amazon's lighted cover. But it's really the convenient light that gets me

Same here. I tried other covers and lights. In the end, I stayed with the lighted K3 cover.

I guess I'll just have to risk it then. Amazon's CS is pretty good anyway.

I brought a silicone skin just to check that sorta product out.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...ef=oss_product Of all the silicone skins I could find on Amazon, non of them has their thickness stated. The one I brought is less than a 1 mm thick, but it's not really surprising considering the price of 1 pound. Anyone here have any experience with other silicone products ? What about their thickness ? |

I found out that I like a more simplistic cover so I sold my Tuff-luv and ordered a M-Edge Trip Kindle Jacket - black.

I wrote about it here. I feel that it sufficiently protects my Kindle. According to the Marware site, it is 2mm thick (but since it wraps around the Kindle, it adds a total thickness of 4mm). It's quite a bit more expensive than the item you linked, but it is quite nice, and is much cheaper than the average cover. |

I wonder why they don't make some with 4+ mm (silicone/gel). Yes, it would be a bit more bulky, but it wouldn't be a problem, for me at least. And it would probably offer very good protection, at least if it landed on a corner. In case of a faceplant the materiale would have to be exstremely soft since it lands on such a large sufface area. That would cancel out much of the absorption capability of the skin. Bobbles counter that: ![]() Maybe they could put some bubbles on the font and back of my 4+ mm fantasy skin. Hehe. I'll just stop typing now...

Very sexy. It seems many of Oberon's designs have a female or medieval setting, though. If I was a girl I would probably fall in love with most of them. Hehe.

Would be cool if they made some more boyish, badass and modern designs. But I realized that it's probably a question about what their style is, of course. Cheers Last edited by Kenneth_irl; 02-24-2011 at 04:53 PM. |
