No worries, I don't mind a bit of advice from people who are wiser than me every now and then. But like you said, everyone should learn from their own mistakes

In my experience, every relationship obliges you to change your schedule a bit. I haven't experience the 'friendly ambient' on the train yet I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that it's only 7AM when I take the train, so everyone is pretty much asleep.

Anyway, this guy and me have been taking the same train and bus for nearly a year (yep, he caught my eye before I met my now-ex-boyfriend). I'm considering talking to him, but knowing me it will take a loooong time before I actually do anything about it.

My morning started bad, it turned out public transportation in Ghent is on a strike today. So I had to wait 45 minutes for a tram to show up, and arrived late at work. Let's hope I can get home tonight, I'm not looking forward to a 40 minute walk in high heels ...

Cup of pure peppermint and some mobileread to calm down a bit, and then to work (last day of the week, yippie !!).

Ah well, it's nice to dream a bit. And who knows....what is meant to be, will be. Although I helped 'destiny' a bit along in the past and we have been together for more than 25 years.
But always enjoy yourself of course.

In my country we don't need strikes, as our railway does a bad job of showing up in time. *#*#* ^|^.

That is the same problem that affects primary and middle schools in the US. And the results are that students find themselves advancing without the proper foundations to properly learn the next level of material.

As a teacher myself, I believe it is up to us to insure that students learn. It is our responsibility to see to it that students understand completely. It's one of the reasons I left the US academic arena. In my classes, students had to score 80% or better to pass a test. If they didn't, they could re-take the test, but had to score 100% on the retest to pass. They already knew the questions and answers. All they had to do was study them. How hard is that?

I'm not looking forward to a 40 minute walk in high heels ...

Yeah... I hate that too....

If there is one thing that can be said about Japan, it's that you can actually set your watch to the trains and busses. Unless there is some major calamity, if the train is due at 11:57 and your watch says 11:59, fix your watch!

It is nice to dream I'll see what happens, I think he's too shy to come talk to me so I'll have to take initiative this time. Usually I just give some hints and wait for the guy to come talk to me

When I was in Leidschendam I had to take the tram to get to the meeting. I couldn't find any trams so I asked someone, and he told me there was a strike that day Just my luck.

Thanks, I will. Fridays are hard for me, I usually can't focus long enough to get any of the serious work done. So I usually save administrative and 'dumb' jobs (like taking photocopies) for friday.

Now if only all teachers would think like you. Most of my teachers were pretty bad, and they didn't really care about our grades. Teaching was just a job for them. You need teachers who think teaching is a calling.
