Just finished wrapping the presents, with my usual masterly technique. The trick is to put all the messy seams on one side and present the package on the clean seamless side. Anyway nobody takes time to look at the wrapping, do they?

Over in the Sony forums, it's been discovered that the K2 Oberon cover fits the Sony 950 almost perfectly. Since my "operation" on the Nook cover didn't work out that well (darn it, and I LOVE that cover...) and with all this talk, I went looking and am now drooling over the Dragonfly pond in Fern. It'll have to wait though. Santa has already bought my Christmas (tickets to a Jim Brickman concert on Thursday!!).

I have the red Wild Roses for my Kindle 3 and was asked to pick another one for my birthdaypresent this month. Well, I almost couldn't make up my mind, but I choose the black Wild Roses. They're all lovely.

Going to a good concert would probably beat any cover for me.
I have fond memories of Status Quo, Uriah Heep and such. Ears ringing and throat was hoarse when we came out.

Hey I just saw the Kindle 3 at Target. I like the screen, but I think I like my K2 as far as buttons etc.

Yes I miss the number buttons on the K3 - wish they hadn't got rid of those

But the screen, for me, is a big improvement.

I'm re-indexing my and my partner's 4000+ issue comic book collection. We clean out the collection once a year and decide what we're going to put up for sale.

Fantastic. It's a pity they stopped making covers for the Sonys, but that's fantastic news for 950 owners. I'd love to find one that fits my 600. The da Vinci cover on my K3 was originally bought for my Nook, but I sold the Nook, bought a K3, and modified it to fit with a stitch awl (not to be confused with Stitchawl).

The sensitive page turn buttons seem more prone to accidental engagement on the K3, but I like having Page Forward and Page Back buttons on both sides.

I miss those number buttons also, but hitting Alt + a letter in the top row isn't too bad, unless you have to enter a large series of numbers. The screen is a huge improvement over the K2.

Yes, it is a bit on the 'dark' side, these black Wild Roses; I'll use it for my fantasy, horror, literature and things of the mind like philosophy/spiritual.

In trying to think of the last time I used number buttons on my K2, I thought of the GOTO location function. Do you have to hit Alt with each number there, or do they assume numbers and change that top row to only do numbers for that brief time?

Yes, you do. Nothing at all will be entered is you only hit the letter keys in a GoTo search.
