If I needed to advance in a book it was easy to press the button 10 times and sit back and wait for the turns to happen. I didn't have to be fast. Even as the first one or 2 turns are occurring I could still press the button and the Kobo would advance to the total of the number of button presses. (My original Kobo-1.4- will only advance 2 pages at a time no matter how many presses.) I wrote to Kobo about this , stating: "my 2 previous Kobos would do multiple page turns with multiple quick clicks on the button. Even my original version Kobo would do 2 page turns. This Wifi Kobo only does ONE page turn no matter how many times I push the D-button." and here's the response I got. "The page will only turn as fast it can load. You will not be able to turn the page a second time untill the first page loads. This device is not 'faulty'. This is how it is designed." Obviously he didn't read what I wrote. ~sigh~ Joyful |

It seems to me that this is a quality control issue or perhaps some inconsistency in the manufacturing. I feel like I got a hybrid this time around. It has the D-button of the Original and the better screen contrast of the WiFi. But the mulitple page turns or lack thereof is really puzzling. Is anyone getting multiple page turns with software version 1.7.1 on the WiFi Kobo? I'm about ready to let this go. I'm happy that this Kobo is working and I can read. And it's not about hating the Kobo. I still love mine so much that I won't consider any other reader. (I tried the Sony and it just wasn't for me.) However I'd really like to understand what's going on. Is it a crap shoot when you go into the store as to what features you'll get? Joyful |

I'm no expert, but I think it is a bit of a trade off. It used to be that you could do that multiple click thing, but it also used to be that the new chapters/sections did not open until the entire chapter/section had loaded. Now the chapters/sections open after the first page has loaded (well, pretty much), but the load has to be complete on each page before you can request a new one. FWIW, if the improvements to the desktop application function as they should, a quickie for kepub files is to plug in, open the book in the desktop application, and use the TOC and mouse click combo to move through the book faster when you have lots of pages/clicks.
