A week ago, I began working the "swing" shift. I was nominated for it by virtue of the fact that they needed a second person and I was the only one who said, "I'll do it if no one else will." I still work graveyard on Thursday and Friday (8 hours each), but also Saturday & Sunday 7pm to 7:30am (1/2 hour each night for lunch).

Yep. But a lot of people forget that fact that New York is on the same lattitude as Madrid! (to give an impression how high Europe lies, compared to the US)

Daylight Savings was invented by idiots. The cows don't get up any earlier! Furthermore, we're just kidding ourselves. If you want to go to work earlier, it should be a matter for bosses to allow a timeshift in opening hours instead - not 'changing the clock'! Hey, is this a Political issue or what? |

It doesn't matter where you live. Your day is still governed by the other time zones, especially if you follow the stock markets or sports. This can wreak havoc on your biological clock if you telecommute.

I wish they would just pick one time -- I don't care which -- and stick with it. I do not like having to adjust each time the time changes. Hey, wait a minute. Maybe that's where Bob Dylan got the idea for his song.

Well, I'm thankful for this thread. I wasn't sure when we were changing back the clocks; thought that I missed it this past weekend - had to get up very early a few days this week and it was dark as pitch. Doesn't take much to confuse me that early in the morning. |

Pain in the rear - UK now 8 hours behind so no sneaking off work early in case boss wants a word!

As a short sleeper who relies on regularity to get any semblance of proper sleep this clock changing business really throws me out of kilter each time it comes around. I've been immediately taken down by a cold this time around. Thankfully it hasn't been a very bad one. |
