Interesting about the US libraries not doing eBooks. Over here (UK), libraries are starting to offer a DRM/eBook lending solution, which is kinda useful as our local library has closed down for refurbishment. Not a fantastic selection of books yet, but the service is still in its early days. They also offer audiobook lending services.

They told me at my local Borders store (Corvallis) that the only return is if it is not working. Maybe online is different or each store policy is different? Deekbee - the US libraries often do offer ebooks. Just not all. But many are starting to. Our state has a lending library online - Oregon is http://library2go.lib.overdrive.com Last edited by harriska2; 10-22-2010 at 09:54 AM. |

Not quite sure where you got the "US libraries not doing eBooks." According to other threads on the forum, there are many US libraries with at least four figures of titles available... Quote:

People have been singing the demise of Sony Readers for several years now. I think Sony's still making enough money to stick with it. The iPod didn't kill all other MP3 player manufacturers, and the Kindle won't kill all other ereaders. |

I found it on their return policy online, but it referred to "in store" returns, not online...I went there today and spoke to the manager who told me herself that up to a few months ago, they would only take returns of damaged goods but not anymore...Its a full 30 days...I asked her if it was just her store (Sarasota, Fla) she assured me all the Borders stores...But I still didnt buy it...yet !!

650 and 350 at walmart in Canada

I saw the 350 and 650 at the local Walmart...in fact they were the only ones on the shelf. I was so impressed with the new display quality, I made an executive decision and bought the 650. My previous ebook reading was limited to the Palm T5 and the Ipod Touch. I'm looking forward to a better 'book' experience with the larger and sharper 650. |
