I have a case open with Kobo, but I'm not expecting much. I supplied them with all the requested documents, but since I purchased it on eBay (new, mind you), they are requesting the original receipt from when the EBAY SELLER purchased it, not just when I purchased it. It seems a little crazy to me, and I'm not really very happy about it. I'm not one to let a single bad incident affect my purchasing decisions too much, but if they can't resolve this for me, I doubt I'll buy another Kobo again.

Mine has a hardware problem and I also got it off eBay since I can't find an authorised US seller (I'm using a US forwarder who would ship to my country and they only allow US-based purchases). Same story. They refused to process the replacement unless I can give the original receipt and ship it back (too expensive). I told them the reasobln why I went with eBay is that their authorised seller here doesn't even sell the Glo HD. I honestly thought their warranty policy would be like most brands that would honor them regardless of where we purchased it as long as it's still within 1 year or that since they have a local partnership here with a bookstore, they would have at least a service center. Best they can do is give me a $10 coupon for my troubles.
