Not likely. The KDP page quoted in the first post repeatedly says EPUB and PDF and it doesn't say anything about specific Amazon formats.

JHowell's speculation at post 18 of this thread seems the most likely way Amazon will produce ebups, for the reasons he gives there.

Yes, but the comment was if Amazon would give them DRM-free, instead of the current situation of DRM-locked to an account.
