Amazon has been glitchy in other areas such as gift cards so maybe its just a glitch in your area. Sorry you are having problems.

Just tested here and as long as the book was published before the cut off date, the book downloads. So basically, it does sound like a you problem so I can't offer any help.

Qestion, as your thread is the freshest i found. Kindle for PC older no longer downloads amazon books… Have only KFX-ZIP in my Calibre or PRC from Kindle Fire. The bug i got is old and not solved, do not want it in new laptop too. There should be a ”help” page, not in this forum but where and what info is needed. Read no messing with DRM here so… This thread seems best to find out when Calibre can be used for new books, but have to clean my calibre, First. Greetings from Sweden. |

If you're talking about a site explaining how to get books from your Kindle or Amazon account to Calibre, I don't think that will ever be in the official help site. I doubt anyone is going to create a help page, either, for fear of getting in trouble with Amazon. This discussion forum is here to help, though. Volunteers offer up their time and expertise with no reward but the joy of having helped someone. That's a wonderful thing.

Has anyone tried Kindle for Android today? Is Method 4 now officially dead? Holding off on updating the first post until there is confirmation, just in case something has changed.

I haven't bought anything new, but it did download the books I bought a week ago or so, and opened them. So it appears to not be dead yet.

Hello, I'm sorry if this has already been asked but this is a long thread and I couldn't read all the pages. Is there an update or a new plugin that will work to remove drm from the very latest amazon ebooks? I was able to get a newly published book onto Calibre via my old Kindle (it uploaded as AZW3 format) but the drm won't let it open in Calibre. It obviously won't download to my version of Kindle for PC either. Please tell me I don't have to read it on my phone or even worse, my prehistoric Kindle?! Also, as a side note, if I do update my Kindle for PC to the latest version, will I still be able to use that method to de-drm books that were published before the May cut-off date using the old plugins on calibre? Or will they also become unconvertable essentially? |

As to your inability to deDRM the book, did you enter the serial number of your Kindle in the deDRM plugin settings?

No, I never use this method tbh so I've not done that. Thanks for the tip, I'll try it now!
