Thanks
![]() So in the fonthack there is an option to replace Caecelia Condensed by a regular one. If I replace Caecilia fonts manually, will it use those fonts to replace Condensed? I’d like to add just one more reading font to reader. |

I don't quite recall how all of this works, other than it is *very* rigid, and that you can't actually "add" fonts, just replace existing options.

Paging @NiLuJe - the target OTA version for the hotfix seems to be out of date (3887160041 vs 3889290042 for 5.15.1 or 3900690052 for 5.16.1).
This is probably the cause of the issues that people are having here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...=345655&page=4 Would it make sense to set the target OTA version to something implausibly high (e.g 9999999999) to avoid the need to bump it every time that Amazon releases a new FW? |

Huh, thought I'd refreshed the packages after bumping it in KindleTool; apparently not ;p.
IIRC, the max approach stopped working a while ago (and I never was a fan of it as it opened up the risk of running on unsupported FW). EDIT: Done. Last edited by NiLuJe; 01-04-2023 at 06:00 PM. |

Whelp, there was a silent rebuild at one point, then, as that was correct for the original 5.15.1 release...

I am going to try the jailbreak made by katadelos that was mentioned above, but since some people mentioned the hotfix not working for 5.15.1, I did not do it yet. I just wanted to make sure before tearing the kindle down. |

@Vlash (and for future readers)
When in doubt, just check the date of the post claiming something against the timestamp at the bottom of the first post of this thread, which is, as time of writing The latter is newer than the former, ergo, yes, it's fixed ![]() |

However, the Downgrader extension does not show up in Kual no matter what. I tried every other extension here, the Downgrader and USBNetwork don't show up. I just need the former though, I want to get rid of the dreaded 5.15.1 |

Problems downloading...
I'm having trouble downloading the Python-0.15 package. (0.1 mb in an hour and sometimes stalls).
Are there alternative mirrors or a .torrent package with everything out there? I'm not sure if its a bandwidth issue from the source or something? I'm not struggling with any other speed issues on my end, just downloading this one file. Thank you! |

Is the usbnet strace build patched to support PW5/bellatrix MXCFB ioctls? I tried it and am getting a bunch of ioc write etc. Thanks |

The code is (well, was, might need some minor tweaks on recent strace builds now) revamped to handle everything in a single build (I, err, think I finished that for Kindles, at least?), but it hasn't really made it into a release yet.
TL;DR: I have an unwind-less build of it here. (And, given the name, yeah, I probably finished the unified build ;p). |
