Really??? so also without jailbreak I can use this workaround, change . epub extension into .png and Amazon email account will convert into .mobi...so if it's so fast and easy why I used Caliber through PC🤓

There have been many posts from people over the years asking how to do something that turns out to need a jailbreak, but at that time, and sometimes for years after there was no jailbreak for their firmware. Many of those had not JB when one was available because they did not see a need.

So one of the best reasons to jailbreak now is that a need may arrive later but no jailbreak is available. Everyone is reminded that the very next kindle firmware update will make kindles invulnerable to the current jailbreak.

Yep, you right better now than before (already with new upgrade 5.14.3) close the backdoor..but I just read on Amazon website support... enter the end of 2022 Amazon will let to send through its email the format . ePub

THAT is interesting and certainly something I've always wanted to see! Good news and welcome to many, I'm sure, so thanks for posting this tidbit!

Not that I'm likely to give up reading on my Kobo, but as I have a Kindle too, it'll be nice to have epub support on both devices!

This is already working, I just tested it. EPUBs sent over email (no need for extension change anymore) arrive to kindle converted to KF8 (AZW3).

Yep, I had a chat with Amazon support this morning; not on all device yet sadly, for example on mine doesn't work.

if by "book cover" you meant cover thumbnail in Home and Library on Kindle then the answer is no. Kindle firmware newer did extract thumbnails for PDOCs in azw3/KF8 format, only old mobi PDOCs have cover thumbnails.

Do you have "Display cover" option visible in Device Options in Settings on that jailbroken?

I don't even after 48h left online. I'm seriously considering making a poll here on MobileRead to check that situation for other people that jailbreak-ed their PW5's...

The fastest, best and most private method is to make a file using Calibre from the epub:
azw3/KF8 for FW from 3.x and later. Select Publisher mode. Embedded fonts work.
mobi/KF7 for FW 2.5.x and earlier. There is no Publisher mode. No embedded Fonts
Dual mobi if you don't know what the Kindle is. Publisher mode will use KF8, ancient Kindles will use KF7.

Email to Amazon and then WiFi or Cell/Mobile on Kindle is slower than the USB Cable. Keep it charging but ejected till index is complete or battery will run down.

Later this year Amazon will accept epub for Send to Kindle, but like epub upload to KDP they will do THEIR conversion to KF7 or KF8. You are better doing your own. KFX can also be done with a plugin on Calibre.

Or buy a Libra2!
