I did almost mention 'tiled' in the poll, but I stuck with 'old' and 'new' instead, trusting the title and first post to clarify to any potential voter. Quote:
If Kobo did decide to bring back the tiles, I would hope they would rethink it and make some changes. I just miss the freeflowing, user controlled feel of the tiles vs. the regimented blocks of the current screen.

I chose What's a home screen? because after using the firmware after 3.19, I'm not bothered at all any longer.

I Loved the tiles. I wish I had them. (I have them on my Mini but as I don't read on it, it doesn't matter). I loved that I could see the 9 or so books I might currently be reading right there, easy to select.

It would still be nice if the most recent read was slightly larger than the rest. Like it was on the tiled screen.

As for Kobo, I suggest asking in the firmware patch thread if a patch could be made to make the left cover larger then the rest.

You can also use the Settings>Beta option to enable 'Large Print Mode' which increases the top line cover size by reducing the number of covers from 4 to 3.

Anyway, I can live with the current home screen. I just think the previous one was better.

Yes, I still miss it. I liked being able to pin collections etc especially. User-configurability wins over "evenness" for me every time.

I really missed the option to pin collections to the home screen at first, but the reason I needed that was because the collections list was soooooooooo slow to load. That's no longer a problem, and the way I have my collections set up anyway means the ones I use most are on the first page. So it's the new home screen for me. Patched, it feels much cleaner. YMMV, of course.
