I already have a 10" tablet (an iPad) but a 7" could be just what I'm looking for; it's a nice size.

If the 7 inch tablet supports kindle as in ereader and has honeycomb with reasonable price, I will consider it.

September will be a busy month. We'll see Ios5 announced too, according to the rumor mongers.

I'd consider the 7" if it's under $350 and of a quality I feel matches the price.

It's kinda hard not to wait for the alleged retina ipad, though.

Me too. I'm interested in what this 7 inch tablet will be. It would be nice if it was a color kindle ereader with Whispersync plus a full tablet without the need to root like the Nook Color.

There is absolutely no way on Earth that this is going to be a general-purpose Android tablet - I'm absolutely confident in making that prediction. That's not the game that Amazon are in.

If the Amazon tablet doesn't turn out to be right, it is worth taking a look at the Nook Color, if you have a way of getting one without paying through the nose for postage. With CM7 running from an SD card, it is a very usable ereader, although a bit fiddly in places.

WEll, Amazon isn't coming out with a tablet because it wants to help Google increase its ads revenue, or please those who want a ful Android tablet experience. Its coming out with a tablet because :

1. It wants to sell Amazon stuff
2. It wants to stifle the Nook Color

Based on that, I'm pretty sure that it will be locked down like the Kindle or the NC, I'm afraid. It will offer access to the Amazon App Store, though. Dunno how good that App Store is.

No big deal, since Amazon's app store is large enough to keep me from rooting this tablet.

I agree. But I suspect it's going to have access to Amazon's Appstore (not exactly a bold prediction), which is a non-proprietary market that sells to general purpose Android devices. So there's that to consider.

How are they going to limit it to their App Store, when they don't limit their App Store to their device? I bought apps from Amazon for my Evo.

"Our device is walled-in, but any other Android device has full access to our app store and everyone elses!" Not going to happen. Edit: I should never say that.

I dont think it will be tomorrow. Samsung has its IFA presser tomorrow. But it would make sense to have something announced at IFA IF they will be selling it in Europe too from launch. If not then they may wait until next week when IFA is over
