The slow page turns are only the animation that they used on the demo. It can actually do almost full motion video (15-20) screens/pages per second without the blanking page in between. It would probably be similar to flipping pages on your Sony without the refresh at the end.

The fact their plan didn't happen last year does give hope that maybe it could this year but I wouldn't hold my breath.

My thinking is that Sony will be going Pearl. But maybe Sony will surprise us and will have the 300DPI eink.

I would love to see a higher DPI screen. If e-Ink can do the Retina-Esque 300dpi, that would truly be amazing, and I'd gladly pay the premium for that. -Pie

All the x50s are Pearl version Vizplex screens so better to hope that they don't use a lesser screen...

I just wish Sony came out with details and dates. These are known, so why keep them secret?

I was responding to JSWolf's comments about the new Sony, "My thinking is that Sony will be going Pearl." hence my comment about it being unlikely they'd go to a lesser screen when they already use Pearl... I was essentially saying the same as you but you simply posted a minute before me whilst I was still writing!!!
