9969 is what's on your link.

Corrected the post above, added the name of the dictionary and word count.
Great....spasibo! I think, you have already found the best one!

For more precisely highlighting of Arabic words in the context for translation, I think there is a stylus will be needed. Shall try it. However not sure if the stylus will work for that purpose...?

From your link for different dict-s (I call it - diction-s paradise) I found some interesting options to Deu-Ru and also to Tr-Ru.
Deu-Ru: http://www.lingvodics.com/dics/details/3037/. (180.000 words?)
Deu-Ru: http://www.lingvodics.com/dics/details/3861/ (I have this as an app, very rich)
Tr-Ru: http://www.lingvodics.com/dics/details/207/ (21.414 words)
Tr-Ru: https://fb2lib.ru/zhivoy-yazyk/bolsh...usskiy-slovar/ (c.a. 200 T. words)

Do you think these or some of them were possible to convert for Kobo?
Прошу извинить за наглость

I'm sorry, but unfortunately your links are not working, since ftp ru-board R.I.P. in December last year (you can read about this sad fact on the forum itself).
The rest of the links for some reason do not work, and I will definitely not convert PDF and DjVu - it will take more than one month with proofreading.

Absolutely understandable. You have helped me already greatly!

What is the best format suitable for easy converting?
Just for future, if I find a good tr-ru one.

There is already a tr-en on the forum, but It is a big advantage to get the translation in context in the native tongue.

I'm endless grateful to you for the De and Ar diction-s!

Update of my dicthtml-de-de.zip (Wiktionary dump as per 2022-02-02, wordcount=799011).

There is also a StarDict version.

(Download links stay the same.)

Hi,

Does someone know or used the Kobo Stylus if it works for highlighting/pressing a word for its translation in the context?

In some languages, you cannot correctly highlight the word by merely pressing on it with the finger.
Or even in some composed long words or in the past tense, in order to get the tranlsation in context; you need to precisely press on the word root.

Maybe the stylus would be helpful for that?
If it works, would get one

Another (experimental) Update of my DE-DE dictionary. dicthtml-de-de-svg.zip (Wiktionary dump as per 2022-02-02, wordcount=799011). Rename to dicthtml-de-de.zip for Kobos to recognize it as DE-DE.

This uses SVG to display mathematical symbols and formulae better. The screenshots are from a friend’s Kobo Aura HD and my Linux GoldenDict.

There is also a StarDict version.

How well do these dictionaries deal with morphology/inflection? I mostly read in in Russian and Spanish. Would e.g. "читающих" open up an entry for either "читающий" or "читать" or would the dictionary not find anything at all? The same for Spanish: would "tendría" open up an entry for "tener"?

I am mostly interested in the "Big explanatory dictionary of Russian language, S.A. Kuznetsov" (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...&postcount=701) and any Sp-En or Sp-Ru dictionary.

My ru-en dict. which I installed from here, sometimes does it, sometimes not. It does not recognize at all in the context words such as "пролежавший"...."обещавший"..."глядящий"...no t even gives a hint of their roots. But it recognizes дребезжащий
The same issue with the de-ru...some words does it, some not.
So, I admit, it depends on the dict. itself..i.e. its wordcount or how it was styled/designed for such auto-translations.
With the most European languages, dict-s that are here available, work fine.
Maybe the converting profis here can bring some light on the issue....

Wiktionary can satisfy such requirements. I posted it somewhere above, but it is very raw, there was no time and desire to bring it to normal.
The dictionary of Kuznetsov, Dahl, Efremova, etc. are not intended for this.
