Hello everyone,

This is my first time on a Forum - I'm new at this.

I'm trying to find out if I can get my Sony 505 reader repaired, as I just dropped it on a tile floor - yes, I know, I'm a klutz !

It can be repaired but you will have to send back to Sony and they will charge over $100 (don't remember the exact price). Contact Sony to find out your options.

Good to have your company, Micheline -- even though you've joined with a disaster story. Have you checked out the Sony forum here? Quite a few folks report on repairing 505s they've dropped. Just describe your problem in detail and you'll get plenty help and advice from the generous folks here. Good luck. Neil

Thank you everyone for the good wishes ...

I've sent my Sony 505 to a Sony Repair Centre in Montreal, and I'm waiting for the verdict !

I hope it can be repaired ... otherwise I'll only be able to use it when I'm at home, because I can start it by plugging it into my computer and then I can use it unplugged. Of course, I cannot shut it down but it will shut down automatically after an hour if there are no activities .....

The start/stop key slider is the problem ...

Maybe I could figure out a way to connect a battery hub to the small usb receptable to jump start it ?!?

Anyway, I'll keep you posted and bye for now,
