7.20.0 keeps hanging

I installed 7.20.0 a few hours ago, and it keeps hangin when edtinig metadata. It will show as "not responding for between 5-10 minutes when making a single metadata change on a single book, and in the most recent case, it had reached 15 minutes of "Not Responding" when I gave up and forced a close.

Because of this, I decided to rollback to 7.18 but got a message saying that as a newer version was installed I have to unistall Calibre first before installing the older version. I had really been hoping to avoid having to do this, but if I must, what do I back up to ensure as smooth and rapid a recovery to my previous state as possible?

Uninstalling calibre does NOT touch your settings or library; th9ose are left totally untouched.

Of course; you DO have a well defined backup / recovery (and tested) strategy for calibre and its settings, along with any other important data on your PC?

Uninstalling doesnt touch your books/settings/plugins/etc/ It only removes calibre program files.

Thanks. I do have it set to do a backup on each connect, but wasn't sure what survives uninstalling. After I posted, I removed 16 books 'from library and device' and it took over an hour, so there's definitely comething about 7.20.0 that doesn't play well with my system.

Um.. I think you mean it backups your eReader on each connect; not the calibre library.

Just don't use any third-party "clean" uninstallers (Geek Uninstaller, Revo, etc) as those often will try to cleanup the leftover files and have been known to delete libraries.
