Metadata not updating to Kindle when trying to send ebooks through email

How do i get the metadata i changed in Calibre to show up on my kindle paperwhite when i use the send to email feature on Calibre? Everything shows up correctly when i connect my kindle to the computer and send to device through usb, but when i use the send through email nothing that i typed( the series and series number) into Calibre shows. Just the author and book title.

That's normal. The Kindle only uses title and author and ignores other metadata.

What others have done to work around this limitation is to inject series info into the title using Calibre's metadata plugboards.

That's what i've been doing.i have a plugboard se up for my series info to be put in the title. if i transfer the books over using the usb method everything is correct. it's only when i use the calibre send through email feature where the metadata doesn't show.
