UI icons missing?

I'm in the process of moving my ebook wrangling from my MacBook to my Mac Pro, but when I launch calibre on the Mac Pro, most of the UI icons don't show up.

I've tried to force a clean slate by deleting calibre and the folder at ~/Library/Preferences/calibre and even re-downloading the latest version, but the problem is still there. I even tried creating and logging into a new user account, with no change.

What might be going on here? Is there another place where calibre's settings are stored? Or has my computer just been cursed?

calibre v1.14, OS X Mavericks, lots o' RAM, 3-year-old Mac Pro.

Looks like a corrupted install. Delete /Applications/calibre.app and re-install.

You can check where all calibre settings are by going to Preferences->Miscellaneous and clicking the button to open the config directory.

Thanks Kovid, I got it working. When I downloaded it again, I also tried changing its location, and that seemed to be important.

On this machine I had it in a folder called "Calibre ƒ" and the final " ƒ" (for "ƒolder," get it?) seems to have been the problem. Moving calibre to a different location, and removing the " ƒ" each resulted in a healthy UI.

Moral: Avoid ƒunky ƒolder names...
