Author's order, sometimes goes crazy

A friend has the author order set up with Inverter. And she sometimes respects the rule and on other occasions she doesn't. What could be the process to make it always work?

I believe the rule (tweak) only applies to books:

During add:
without author sort values in their metadata (OPF)

In the MDE when you click the (set) sort button (or tick the box in the bulk mode MDE)

Changing the tweak does not affect EXISTING sort values.

Could any of this be the issue?

BTW Quality check PI can find those that need help

First point: the language of the book affects the author_sort. For example, a book set to be French won't change English "The Players" to "Players, The". Use a title in the language set for the book.

Second: use Manage Authors to "Recalculate all author sort values".
