3G connection DR800SG
Hi all,
Is anyone experiencing problems with the Verizon 3G connections? Whenever I try to connect to the ebook mall, there is no network found. Also, I have to mention I did reset the device to the factory settings, wiping out the myirex account in the process. I did re-enter it since. Also, the resetting of the 3G connection on Settings->Device Management fails to reinitialize. My guess would be that IREX being in chapter11 might have something to do with its Verizon contract. The connection used to work just fine. Any insight is appreciated, Stefan |

Yep, I have the same problem.
Cannot connect and cannot "repair 3g" either. |

Thank you all for your replies.
The strange thing is that I can see the bars in the bottom of the page (firmware 2 feature) so the radio works.. |

That's just telling you that you have signal strength. Theoretically, I think you can still have that even if Verizon is blocking the device from communicating on the network.

Just tested mine, I can't connect to the network either.

This would make the European DR800 and the American DR800 SG even!

Why doesn't B and N take over where iRex left off? I mean, the 3G connection is used primarily to access the B and N store. Or were there so few sold that it's just not worth it?

B&N already has the Nook, so I don't know if they're interested in picking up the DR series as well.

For me the end to the network connection for the DR800SG is the end of checking out library books using the acsm file method.
I use Linux exclusively. And as far as I can tell (after much searching) there are no Linux applications that can handle acsm file downloads. Thats' sort of funny, cause I used my DR800SG to download library books via acsm files ... and it runs linux. Is it possible to run the DR800SG software that does this on a standard linux? |

Just use wine to install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer. You can use calibre to transfer the books to Digital Reader.
