Has anyone actually seen one yet?
Has anyone seen one for sale yet?
What is up with those folks?
It's like the Alex, except Spring Design says the will start selling Monday.
Alex more like DR800. No sign of that shipping or even being able to be ordered.

I think they've only made one so far

. Latest release date being given by e-mail to personal inquiries via customer service on the iRex website is mid January. No official announcement yet though (since original end of October date), and iRex have previously given out several other dates (now past) in response to these inquiries. No real reason to believe the mid-January date will prove any more accurate than the previous dates given.

iRex probably doesn't know either. With similar delays in the Nook (currently won't ship until February) and the new Sony Readers, there's probably some sort of supply problem going on that is effecting most of the eInk devices.

Edit: Amazon is announcing delays on Kindle DX orders as well now.

I went to a B&N today and played with the Nook. The lcd screen is tiny, and the page turn is SLOW! You can't enlarge the font much more than 14 pt. The reading screen is pretty clear, but gets really smudgy with fingerprints. I'm willing to wait for the Odyssey (DR800SG).

I called Best Buy corporate sales. The person I talked to never heard of Irex or the DR/800. I asked that person's supersivor. Same answer. So, as of this fine Christmas day, no answer. I did, however, get a really nice e Christmas card from Irex. I tried to read a book on it, but no go. Ho, ho, ho!

No Release Date yet, but it contains pictures and some information. Price seems to be $399, but you can't order yet.

That is old news. That website has been there since before they announced the supposed release date back in October.

Currently they have informed those who have inquired that their current release date is either Mid-January or the end of January, but I wouldn't hold my breath for either date.
