possible fix for random phantom touch issues

My Aura E2 developed the annoying issue where it detected random touches in use last year.

It started some time after it went on a camping trip and ended up in a moist environment for a couple days. The first issue from that was with the internal microsd but that was resolved by popping out the card and swabbing the contacts with deoxit.

I also tried swabbing the contacts of all of the ribbon cables when the random touch thing started and it did not seem to help.

Yesterday i removed the entire internal assembly from the bezel. First i cleaned the entire screen with alcohol a few times until i couldn't see any more crud on it.

The double-sided tape on the inside of the bezel was in poor condition and had a lot of little bits of whatever stuck to it so i peeled it off, cleaned the bezel with naphtha and then with alcohol, and applied new double-sided tape before reassembling.

I also re-swabbed all the ribbon cable connectors with my deoxit pen just in case before snapping on the back.

I no longer appear to have random / phantom touch issues.

It's possible that it was just some salty-greasy crumb caught under the bezel. Hard to say, but that would certainly trigger a capacitive touch panel.

I used the black 3m double sided tape sold for phone repair. Seemed to be the same stuff as the original tape.
