calibre question!

In making an ebook either in pdf or epub,

1) line spacing is messing up.
I am converting ms-dos files to both pdf and epub.
In some viewers, linespacing in some parts of the body appears very small(almost none).
How do I fix this problem?
Line spacing should be set automatically depending on the device in use since it is ebook, no?

2) How do I set it to show in 2 pages view or 1 page view?
For a file, when the screen gets bigger, the body shows in two pages automatically. When the screen gets smaller, the body shows in one page, again automatically.

But for another file, even though the file uses the same ms-dos format, when the screen gets bigger, the body keeps in one page, only bigger. And when the screen gets smaller, the body is in one page as is intended.

I want to get some constancy, here.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 up or 2 up is solely the choice of the render (viewing) device.

You always create 1 up with Calibre.
If lines are smooshed together, then the line-height has been set to other than 1.2 (a standard default)
or (it is only Paragraphs)
you have negative or very small Top/Bottom Margins

You should not have a line height set in the ePub. Let the user set the line height. A lot of programs and some Readers allow you to set the line height and that's how it should be.

As for 2 page view, that's up to the software being used. Mos don't have a 2 page view. A 1 page view is the default and every program used to view ePub has that.
