When I press Sync, how can I choose to decline "checking for updates"?
When I tap on the Sync button on the Kobo screen, is there a way I can choose what to sync? For example, sometimes I want to sync just Overdrive. Sometimes I want to sync just Pocket articles.
I want selective syncing because before, for example, books or articles are synced, I see "Checking for updates..." for a long time. Basically, I wish I could choose to decline checking for updates. |

There are no options. If you use the sync button, it checks everything each time. But, the checking for updates doesn't usually take long here.
But, you don't really need to do a specific sync. The device syncs books at other times. Opening the library list will sync the books. There is a timer built into that to prevent it from doing the book sync to often. |

I don't leave wifi on. I have it on only if I need it.

On my articles there are 3 points at the heading line. Press them and the second line of menu (I don't know how it is called in Your language, in Italian is "ricarica") will update Your Pocket articles, and only them.
There is no overdrive here so I don't know how it works. Last edited by ps67; 05-03-2020 at 02:50 AM. |

On my Clara HD you don't have to press sync at all. If Wi-Fi is on and connected, and you open the "My Articles" page, new ones will start downloading automatically, with no other synchronizing occurring. If you go to "My Books," the same thing happens -- newly bought books download, again, with no other synchronizing occurring.
I only press the sync button when I actually do want to install a software update. Last edited by RobertJSawyer; 05-03-2020 at 02:09 PM. |
