Unhappy Failed to convert JPEG-XR image
Hi,

I am converting two .kfx files to EPUB. First file converted without a hitch, second file reported the following error message in full:

Exception during conversion of JPEG-XR 'resource/-y3Wvp1LTU_AckVIlnqBQA2237.jxr' to TIFF: NotImage: Failed to convert JPEG-XR image

These two books are part 2 and 3 of a series, so I completely failed to understand why 1 converts and the other does not.

Any help is very welcome!

The KFX Input plugin uses JPEG-XR image conversion (JxrDecApp) that is included as part of calibre. This fails for some images.

I have reported this as a calibre bug.

If you follow jhowell's link to the bug report in the post above you will see that the bug is fixed. When you download the next release it should work fine.

Hi guys.

I still experience this error. I updated everything to the latest versions:
calibre - 3.29.0
KFX Input - 1.7.0
DeDRM - 6.6.1

Any ideas how to fix it?

It looks like the change Kovid made didn't fix the problem. I will look into it further.

In the mean time you could try using one of the methods in this thread to avoid KFX:

The latest release of the KFX Input plugin (version 1.8.0) should take care of the occasional problem converting JPEG-XR images from kindle devices.
