DeACSM Plugin Setup

I purchased a book from Google, and am trying to import the ACSM file into Calibre using the DeACSM plugin. I am stuck on this bit of the setup from these instructions:

"After you've activated the plugin, make a backup of the activation using the 'Export account activation data'. Then click 'Export account encryption key' and import the resulting file into the DeDRM plugin for DRM removal. If you're using noDRM's fork of the DeDRM plugin, this step will happen automatically."

I did the "Export account activation data" fine, but it's the "export account encryption key" part I'm confused about. What does it mean by "import tne resulting file into the DeDRM plugin"? I have the latest DeDRM plugin from NoDRM installed in my Calibre, but don't understand what this instruction about importing the file, which I have, means.

Open the DeDRM plugin customization dialog (Preferences => Plugins => DeDRM. Click on Customize plugin. Click on Adobe Digital Editions ebooks and then Import existing keyfiles.

I had this question too, thanks.

I'm trying to merge my Kobo and Kindle libraries, I've got this to work but get:
this message when trying to import a Kobo ASCM (Adobe sample works fine though).

That means that a different account was previously used to download that eBook. What you would have to do is setup DeACSM with the same acount credentials (UN/PW) that was used for that eBook.

when I used to download a book from a library it would automatically be picked up by deacsm plugin and show up in my calibre libray as an epub. Now brings up a save file dialog box. I can indeed save the acsm file and then manually add it to calibre so the deacsm function works but can't figure out what happened to the automatic part of this process. I looked in file type associations under calibre and there isn't even an entry for the acsm filetype

ASCM is the token to GET the real book file. It can only be used once, then it expires (fulfilled)

You can create a auto-add folder from which Calibre will automatically import whatever is saved to the folder. I use this approach to download acsm files and import dedrm them.
