Humble eBook Bundle 4

The latest Humble Bundle for eBooks is up. This one runs through June 11.

Whatever you pay, you'll get the following:

Wizzywig: Portrait of a Serial Hacker by Ed Piskor (graphic novel)
March: Book One by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, and Nate Powell (graphic novel)
The Sword and Sorcery Anthology edited by David G. Hartwell and Jacob Weisman

If you pay more than the average (currently $9.52), you'll also get:

From Hell by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell (graphic novel)
Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind
The Alchemist by Paolo Bacigalupi/The Executioness by Tobias S. Buckell

The Bacigalupi and the Buckell are linked novellas set in the same fantasy world. The average is rising steadily, so buy fast for the best bargain.

If you pay more than $10, you'll also get:

Jam by Yahtzee Crowshaw
Lovecraft's Monsters, an anthology edited by Ellen Datlow

They'll be adding more books at some point; I'll try to update this post when they do. If you buy now you'll still get the books added to the bundle in the future.

Edit: they've added four new items at the "pay more than the average level":

Cory Doctorow, Lawful Interception (audiobook novella)
Alex Robinson, Too Cool to Be Forgotten (graphic novel)
James Morrow, Shambling Towards Hiroshima
Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, The From Hell Companion

Quote:
The Humble eBook Bundle 4

Nine digital literary works. Humble eBook Bundle 4 is here with a wonderful mix of literature and graphic novels. Pay what you want for The Sword & Sorcery Anthology with contributions by Charles R. Saunders, Glen Cook and George R. R. Martin, March: Book One by Congressman John Lewis, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell, and Wizzywig: Portrait of a Serial Hacker by Ed Piskor.

Those who beat the average price will also receive From Hell by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, The Alchemist by Paolo Bacigalupi, The Executioness by Tobias Buckell and Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind.

Pay $10 or more and get everything plus Jam by Yahtzee Croshaw and Lovecraft's Monsters with contributions by Neil Gaiman, Caitlin R. Kiernan, Joe R. Lansdale and edited by Ellen Datlow.

Pay what you want. Separately, this instant eBook library would typically cost you more than $55, but we're letting you set the price!

Compatible with computers and mobile devices. These books are available in multiple formats including PDF, MOBI, and ePub, so they work great on your computer, eBook readers, and a wide array of mobile devices! Full viewing instructions can be found here.

Support charity. You choose where your money goes: between the authors and/or to two charities, Doctors Without Borders and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. If you like this bundle, a tip to Humble Bundle would be greatly appreciated!

I'm becoming less and less impressed by the HumbleBundle book selections.

Me too, it just doesn't seem worth it.

Same here, I skipped the last one and probably this one as well (unless they add some really great stuff halfway through).

The new items have been added. They're all "pay more than the average to unlock":

Cory Doctorow, Lawful Interception (audiobook novella)
Alex Robinson, Too Cool to Be Forgotten (graphic novel)
James Morrow, Shambling Towards Hiroshima
Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, The From Hell Companion

I think I'm going to go ahead and buy this one, though like others I'm underwhelmed by the selection; the lack of an overall theme really hurts the appeal. But the anthologies and From Hell with the companion make it worth the $10 for me.

I wish Cory Doctorow could learn that there is not a total overlap between ebook and audiobook enthusiasts. I might have bought the "Homeland" audiobook if it had been bundled with a dozen other audiobooks. Same here, but with a bunch of ebooks I know little about it just isn't worth it to me. I was happy with the Listening Library bundle, so I guess I'll just have to keep on waiting.

I bought it for From Hell (+companion) and Lovecraft's Monsters. The selection isn't fantastic, but the money does go to a good cause.

I bought some of the earlier e-book bundles even though I didn't like all the books to support the idea and because part of the money went to charity, but I can't keep supporting them if they keep having such crappy selections. If I do, I'm sending the message "hey, your book selections are fine, keep up the good work." I'd be better off donating money to charity directly at this point, as there's not a single book in this one I'd ever read. And honestly, with the first two bundles there were multiple books I was interested in, that hasn't been the case for 3 & 4. They seem to be getting progressively worse.

Good point, Manabi. I am not at all interested in graphic novels or audio books. I wish they would not bundle them like this as if it should be an attraction :-) They are completely separate from 'books' to me.

If From Hell contains the footnotes, it's worth it for that alone. It contained pages and pages of footnotes -- sort of like the graphic novel version of commentary on a DVD.

And I hope the Lovecraft anthology includes the illustrations. I bought it in paper because they would look better on paper. (That's a brand new anthology, by the way. Wonderful to see it included. )

I'm also unimpressed with the Humble Bumble game offerings.
