Cant Download IVONA TTS Voice files
I installed the Arta Tech 22 Oct update on my Arta Tech BOOX T68 using the update.zip on the SD card. The installation went flawlessly.
After installation I was experiencing various problems on the reader. I decided to factory reset in order to solve these issues. Now I have a new problem in that I get an error message "NO VOICE FILES" when I try to play the Ivona TTS. The Ivona AMY TTS voice files seem to have disappeared after the factory reset. Reinstalling the 22 Oct update does not restore the voice files - I guess that they are not in the update package. There is a download voice files option in the Ivona TTS settings, but this does not appear to be able to recover the voice files - nothing happens when I select download voice files. Does anyone know how to restore the IVONA AMY Voice files on a T68 (with Arta Tech 22 Oct firmware) that has been factory reset? |

Onyx boox m96 Missing IVONA files
As this thread seems recent could I ask for a link as well for ivona files for m96 and instruction on how to install ie can I do it using the browser on the m96 itself?

I wasn't complaining I just thought that people were more active here. I had two replies from you already here and still none from Poland. Considering I just bought it from Amazon 3 days ago I had no idea how long I'd need to wait but the fact the previous poster mentioned he'd been waiting a week I figured I should be a bit more proactive. Also I thought it would just be a matter of posting the same link here as was sent to the original poster. If it's a long difficult process and there are many people requesting support for the reader then I have no problem in waiting. Are there a lot of people who need support?

By the way there is a 1 hour difference between my place and Poland - and yes I did take it into consideration.

I am now waiting 6 days for a resolution to my problem - which is no IVONA files seem to have been included with my M96 universe. A representative from support gave me a link to download the files but it didn't work. I explained that it didn't work and that I was using a mac and google chrome incase that was relevant but all that happened was I was sent the same link a further 2 times. Because of the way the support system works - post wait post wait etc it has taken until now and I am at the end of my patience - 6 days and counting for 1 issue. If you feel I am being unreasonable or any other members of the forum please feel free to tell me how long I should wait to resolve this problem. Incidentally the link that was sent for the screenshot worked perfectly. I will wait to hear what others think before posting my review on amazon which is where I bought the unit from. I would much rather solve this problem then warn others about it. |

Today was the first time the link worked and it was a new link instead of the same one posted over and over which didn't work. This was the last 3 days wasted effort.
I have unzipped the file and copied it over to a folder called ivona in the M96. I cant put it in the \BOOX\IVONA folder as I don't have a pc. I have a mac as I have pointed out numerous times so the screenshot is irrelevant as you would know if you understood how the Mac architecture works. I have posted the files in what I think is the equivalent. It didn't work. I reset the ereader and it still doesn't work. I have tried with other software from google play and they work. I would prefer the IVONA as it's considered the best tts engine on android. I know you think this is very simple but I have an IQ of 153, two degrees and many years of using a computer both mac and pc. If a posted link doesn't work and the same link is posted 3 days running as the solution then it doesn't matter how simple the solution is - it's just not going to work. It took me posting the previous post to get this response from you. I don't like doing this but it seems the only way. So ask yourself this - a customer has a problem with your device and 1 week later it hasn't been fixed and the only way to try and solve it is daily posts/emails. I have subsequently looked at problem shooting posts from people who bought their devices in Germany and I see they get much better service or do you think I'm being unfair. I would be very interested in hearing what others in this community think about this. |
