compile one from 3 books
Hi,
I've had a good look around but can't find the answer, maybe someone here could help. I have written a series of books and would like to compile them as one book. It seems that the 'merge' function is for merging chapters? And not bringing books together. Thank you very much in advance. |

My oops post above used Calibre would be easiest
otherwise: you could unpack the additional books and add the files to the first. WARNING:Sigil does not support Multiple (Text) folders. All filenames must be unique or bad things happen This is really simple if both books use the same stylesheet. If they don't, you need to rename the second sheet or copy the contents into a blank sheet, then relink the correct sheet to the new files Repeat for part 3 |

Are you wanting 3 books in one?
What is the source material format? .doc, docx, html? |

Thanks
Thanks so much for your replies.
Yes I would like to turn my three individual books into one I wrote the books and then compiled them individually using sigil. So I guess they are html file (I think that is what sigil publishes in). I figured that this would be common requirement as many people write series and then publish them as one book later on. |

Open one in Sigil.
All epubs are zip files. You need to unzip the other two to the same empty file folder. For that you need a zip program. You can just add the html files using add files and shuffle them around as you like. If this is heavily footnoted, that could be work, but if it is just novels, then it shouldn't be too much work. |

Beautiful. Think I got it sorted.
For other's benefit I used this method to 'unpack' the book as per 'The Ducks' instructions. http://www.ehow.com/how_12158729_ext...pub-files.html Thanks again. Saved me a ton of work, redoing each book |

Ok I managed to unpack the files and then add the 'text' files to the existing book but it says that there is a problem when i upload it to kindle. do I have to add something other than the text files. As far as i know the style sheets should be the same as i used all the default settings.
thanks again |

Run flight crew in Sigil to check the code. You can also try epubcheck online, but it can give you some not very important messages in with the useful ones.
