Waiting for my Kindle in California

I am waiting for my Kindle and waiting and waiting.

Found this site in the process of reading forums etc. Looks great!

I like to read a wide variety of books and would be thrilled to free up space in my house (of course, that would mean getting rid of the books I have...).

I read quickly-it seems stupid to make paper for a book that i will read in a few hours. E-books seem like an elegant solution.

I look forward to being back here soon!

Sue

Hi Sue and welcome to the Forum. I've got a Sony PRS-505 which I bought partly because of the excess book problem. Plus I agree about all the paper that takes up a lot more space than binary digets.

I waited about 5 weeks for mine to arrive. It's such a pleasure to have, particularly if you travel. Several people here talk about using their eBook readers to hold documentation or course materials. My Kindle is designated solely for recreational reading!

I have several hundred eBooks on a 2G USB data "drive", about 25 or so on the Kindle itself. I have a 2G SD card to put into the Kindle, but I don't think I'll keep it there much of the time -- there just doesn't seem to be any big need to have that much content loaded onto the Kindle at any one time.

Welcome to MobileRead.
