Bargain (EPUB/MOBI) Bundle of 2 Stephen Leigh Novels $3.98 [Scifi]

To go with their Tuesday/Wednesday Kindle promotion, Phoenix Pick is offering a tie-in bundle of two Stephen Leigh books (Dark Water's Embrace, Speaking Stones) with similar sociological themes (regularly priced at $9.99/7.99) for the low price of $3.98 for both. Click on the link in the far right box next to Halfway Human. Downloads available without DRM in EPUB and MOBI.

Note: His book The Shape of Silence was PP's freebie in February so if you already have that you might want to check it out to see if you like his stuff.

This is a very good deal if you like far future colonization after-effects sf with biological/gender/societal reimagination themes.

I bought the 2nd book last year after reading* the 1st which was a freebie, and it was well worth the money spent, IMHO.

* Comments from the What Are You Reading thread here, if morbidly curious.

hmmmm... but, I already have the first, so it's $3.98 for one (although it is $2 higher at Amazon and with DRM)....

It depends on whether or not you want to read it. The bundle price is roughly 35% off the price of the 2nd novel bought direct from Phoenix Pick anyway.

And you can consider the whole to be amortized by the fact that Leigh's other book which is regularly priced around twice as much was free a couple of months ago. You have until Saturday to decide, anyway.

Arrrrrgggh, I wasn't planning on buying these since I just splashed out on some backlist mysteries, but ATDrake's review makes them sound like something I'd like.

They're just $2! And you're supporting good-quality backlist sf/fantasy offered for just $2 DRM-free! (though this may not really be a consideration for you personally)

Seriously, download a sample of both books to try. I'm not kidding about the slightly idiosyncratic narrative style, but they really are very good if you like stories exploring those themes and the whodunnit-related portions aren't bad either. And there are nifty world-building extras in the back.

Thanks, picked them both up. Only had The Shape of Silence by this author, which was quite good.

I like Stephen Leigh, so definitely worth a shot.

Epub/Mobi combo use spreading, hopefully
